2012 Great East Ice Fishing Derby
WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING PREREGISTERED DERBY TICKETS.
Interested individuals may sign up for the derby at the Great East Public boat launch Saturday morning.
2012 Great East Lake Ice Fishing Derby Rules
Date: Saturday February 4th, 2012
Time: 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM (Fish will not be registered until after 6 AM and all entries must be in line no later than 3 PM on the derby clock!)
Weigh In Station: Great East Lake Public Boat Launch
Entry Fees: $15.00 per Adult (16 years and older) $5.00 per Child (under 16 years of age)
Proceeds to benefit the Sanford Fire Department.
Registrations will be accepted the morning of the derby 2/4/2012 until 7:30 AM.
Prize Structure
All winning fish will be determined by weight with length settling any tie.
All fish registered must comply with state law - no exceptions!
Adult Division (16 years of age and older)
1st Place Togue (Lake Trout) - 20% of derby entry fees
2nd Place Togue (Lake Trout) - 10% of derby entry fees
3rd Place Togue (Lake Trout) - 5% of derby entry fees
Largest Rainbow Trout - 10% of derby entry fees
For example - if 200 adults register for the derby, 1st place will be $600, 2nd place $300 (also the value for the largest Rainbow Trout of the day), and 3rd place $150.
Children’s Division (under 16 years of age)
1st Place Trout (Togue or Rainbow) - $125.00
2nd Place Trout (Togue or Rainbow) - $50.00
3rd Place Trout (Togue or Rainbow) - $25.00
Largest Warmwater Fish of the Day (Adult’s or Children’s Division) - $100.00
Iceshanty members - don't forget to let us know when you preregister or register the morning of the derby that you are a member of Iceshanty. Your handle will be entered into a special drawing for a 6' X 12' hub style ice shelter. Your entry for this raffle is included in the price of the derby entry and you need not be present to win!
Bonus Prize - All derby applicants will be placed into a random drawing for a Dumond Flies fishing package valued at $300.00 No fish need be registered to be placed in this drawing and you need not be present to win!
Door prizes will be drawn during the award ceremony immediately following the derby. All winners must be present to win.
A 50/50 raffle will be available the day of the derby. Proceeds from this raffle will be donated to the Maine Professional Guides Association. You need not be present to win!
Non-perishable foods will be collected the day of the derby to benefit the Sanford Food Pantry. Each item donated will be entered into a special drawing. You need not be present to win!
The Fine Print - None of the derby officials nor the sponsors will be responsible for any bodily injury nor property damage associated with this ice fishing derby. All registrants will be personally responsible and is implied during the registration process. All state and federal laws are in effect for this derby. All fishing laws are in effect for the duration of this derby. Please consult the official state lawbook for rules and regulations. Either valid fishing license from Maine or New Hampshire will be honored but is required to participate in this derby. All state and federal tax laws will be enforced where applicable. There will be no refunds for derby registrations - NO EXCEPTIONS. All official rulings are final. If the derby is cancelled for any reason, all prizes will be drawn at random and all winners notified.
